CRAPS · BET ANALYSIS
Craps — the same table holds the best and worst bets in the house.
A craps table looks chaotic. The math is not. Pass-line + maximum odds gives one of the lowest house edges in any casino (sub-0.5%). Centre-of-table props are 11-17% edges aimed at impulse. PUTKI HQ ranks every bet.
BEST BETS
The line bets carry the table
Pass-line: 1.41% house edge. Don’t Pass: 1.36% — slightly better but socially awkward (you bet against the shooter). Adding odds behind your line bet is free (true odds, zero house edge) — taking 5× odds drops the combined edge to 0.33%. Maximum-odds tables in Helsinki are rare; 3-4-5× is the realistic ceiling.
| Bet | House edge | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Pass + 5× odds | 0.33% | Optimal |
| Don’t Pass + 5× odds | 0.27% | Mathematically best |
| Pass-line (no odds) | 1.41% | Acceptable |
| Place 6 or 8 | 1.52% | Decent |
| Field bet | 5.56% | Avoid |
| Any 7 | 16.67% | Sucker bet |
| Hard 12 / hard 2 | 13.89% | Sucker bet |
